Spring: A Time to Restore Your Alkalinity

Spring is the season of renewal—inside and out. It’s the perfect time to support your body in returning to balance, especially when it comes to your acid-alkaline levels.

So many people I speak to say things like, “I can’t eat that, it gives me heartburn,” or “I always need to take something after drinking this or that.” What I love about Tissue Salts is that they don’t just mask the symptoms—they work at the cellular level to help restore balance and address the root of the problem.

 

Why Acid-Alkaline Balance Matters

Many Western diets leave our bodies too acidic—thanks to high intakes of poor-quality fats, excess protein, low fibre, and too much sugar. Over time, this imbalance can contribute to inflammation and increase the risk of various conditions affecting the gut, skin, brain, and muscles.

One of the best places to start is with Nat Phos (Sodium phosphate)—a go-to Tissue Salt for helping your body manage acidity and ease symptoms like reflux and bloating.

If your symptoms have been lingering for more than a few months, I often recommend moving to Combination C, a blend of four powerful Tissue Salts that work together to restore cellular balance and encourage a more alkaline state:

  • Mag Phos – supports muscles and helps ease cramping

  • Nat Phos – reduces acidity

  • Nat Sulph – supports liver and digestive health

  • Silica – strengthens connective tissues and supports detoxification

 

How to Take Them

For acute symptoms, you can take one Tissue Salt every 30 minutes for up to 6 doses, then continue every 2 hours until you feel better. For longer-term support, I recommend taking Combination C four times per day for at least three months to give your cells the time and nourishment they need to return to a more balanced, alkaline state.

 

My Simple Tips for Supporting Alkalinity

It’s not about being perfect—it’s about creating habits that support your body naturally. Here’s where to start:

  1. Take your Tissue Salts regularly—4 times a day or more in acute cases

  2. Reduce acidic foods like sugar, caffeine, artificial sweeteners, and processed meats

  3. Choose lean, clean protein sources

  4. Practise mindful eating—chew slowly and pause between bites

  5. Move your body daily

  6. Manage stress—chronic stress contributes to acidity

  7. Prioritise sleep—your body heals while you rest

  8. Moderate your intake of alcohol and spicy foods

Remember: your body is always working to maintain its natural balance. Tissue Salts simply support that process, gently and effectively. Spring is a wonderful time to reset, to support your inner environment, and to feel the difference that true balance brings.
